Henry Reyes - Ironman 70.3

Coming from Venezuela I have had a passion for sports since I was a kid, as I was suffering from asthma so my mum and dad got me into swimming at a very young age. I was a pure swimmer for around 10 years.  Once I came to NZ I fell in love with multi-sports and the endurance culture. I started going to swimming races and met great people doing Triathlon so I got into it very quickly. I have completed 3 Ironman 70.3 plus a few Olympic distance triathlons. Working full time as a software tester sometimes it is not easy to make time for training but at the end of the day you always find time to do what you love. The main short goal in the sport at the moment is to qualify for the world championship in the Ironman 70.3 distance and from there will move to full Ironman distance. I love Nature so every weekend I try to go for a hike, an adventure or just relax at the beach during summer times.

Upcoming: next race is ironman Taupo 70.3 next March the 6th. also planning to do the Xterra Races which is trail running, 6 different races around Auckland national parks. planning to do the super long distance on each race which is around 21km trail running.

I am also doing the Kohimarama swim series every Thursday during summer times which is a 2km swim. also doing peoples triathlon series, I have won my age group in the first 2 races and 2 more to go in March and April.
